MP Linos Ngompek Asserts Gen. Muhoozi's Potential as Uganda's Future President

By Kundu Ronald

Kampala, August 19, 2023 - The Kibanda North Member of Parliament, Hon. Linos Ngompek, has made headlines by expressing his belief in Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba's readiness to assume the presidency of Uganda. While appearing on Bukedde TV 1, Ngompek emphasized the significance of youth-driven political movements and warned against underestimating the influence of mass gatherings.

Drawing parallels to the rise of Bobi Wine, Ngompek noted how the musician's transition into politics initially raised skepticism due to the nature of his early campaign rallies. "People too stated that crowds were attending due to music rallies, but by the end of it, he formed the National Unity Platform (NUP) which now has a majority of opposition MPs and Kyagulanyi is a famous person around the world," he pointed out. He further stressed that such grassroots support shouldn't be taken lightly, as it can lead to significant political transformations.

Addressing the critics who questioned Gen. Muhoozi's involvement in political rallies, Ngompek defended the General's actions by highlighting his role as a Presidential advisor on special operations. Ngompek explained, "Gen. Muhoozi being a Presidential advisor on special operations, he can be sent anywhere by the president for example to meet people of Karamoja over cattle rustling among others." This assertion underscores the General's versatility and the wide scope of responsibilities that come with his advisory role.

In a bid to dispel any assumptions about Gen. Muhoozi's intentions, Ngompek clarified that the General had not formally declared his candidacy for the presidency. However, Ngompek highlighted that individuals who see potential in Gen. Muhoozi's leadership have taken it upon themselves to prepare him for a possible transition, should President Yoweri Museveni retire from active politics.

As the political landscape in Uganda continues to evolve, the words of Hon. Linos Ngompek have ignited discussions about the role of youth movements and the potential for political transformations driven by mass support. Whether Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba will indeed step into the presidential arena remains to be seen, but his name and aspirations are now firmly in the spotlight of Uganda's political discourse.

  2. Government is the one causing all these land problem and death. We all know from history that Apaa is in Amuru Acoli Land it only got to be part of Adjumani by force in 2017 where in history it's the only district that has a land mark stone on one side only. Adjumani stops at river Zuka and after the bridge on the Eastern part lies Amuru Apaa village in Pabbo sub county . This issue is very easy to solve. The Madi's have lived peacefully with the Acolis, inter married but from the time our people went back home from the IDP all changed. Question I have for this government was it a plan to take us to the IDPs and then you take away our land coz land issues in Acoli has never been settled.
