Body of School Director Killed in Nansana Guesthouse Exhumed
Nansana, Uganda - In a significant development in the case of the tragic murder of Godwin Ninsiima, the 47-year-old school director and owner of Victoria Secondary School in Nansana, his body has been exhumed from a cemetery and will finally receive a proper burial. Ninsiima was brutally killed earlier this month under mysterious circumstances at a guesthouse in Nansana, and his body was later discovered dumped in a bush in Kakiri, 18 kilometers away.
The breakthrough came after a DNA test confirmed the identity of the deceased, matching the samples taken from Ninsiima's relatives. The initial burial took place in a cemetery in Bukasa when no one had come forward to claim the body.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, explained the process, stating, "Since the body had been buried in a cemetery waiting for relatives, when they appeared, we took DNA samples from them and from the body. Results have come out showing the samples were matching. The body was therefore exhumed and taken to the city mortuary, a postmortem was done and later handed over to relatives officially for decent burial."
Relatives of the deceased have revealed their plans to lay Ninsiima to rest at their ancestral home in Buhweju district, located in Western Uganda. They also expressed their grief over the untimely death of the school director, lamenting the loss of his numerous plans and aspirations.
"He had so many plans that have all perished with him. We are only praying for justice to prevail now that the suspects have been arrested. Above all, God is in control, and the entire truth will come out," said Innocent Bisongoka, a brother of the deceased.
The investigation into the murder has led to the arrest of four suspects, including Samuel Ssekajja, the 57-year-old security guard at the guesthouse, Moses Ssentongo, the lodge manager, Wilber Kakande, a businessman known for dealing in stolen phones, and Shakira Natukunda, a 23-year-old who has been identified as the prime suspect.
Natukunda reportedly confessed to investigators that she used Chloroform on Ninsiima to rob him of his valuables, including money. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango stated that Natukunda has recorded an extra-judicial statement before a magistrate, detailing her role in the alleged crime.
"The file was sent to the DPP (Director of Public Prosecutions) who advised that the evidence is enough for the suspects to be taken to court. We are arraigning them in court soon," Onyango confirmed.
As the investigation continues and justice is sought, the tragic death of Godwin Ninsiima serves as a stark reminder of the importance of thorough police work and the pursuit of truth in the face of such heinous crimes.
