Bugwere Cultural Leader Meets Finance Minister to Foster Development

MBALE, - In a significant development for the Bugwere Cultural Institution, His Royal Highness Musimami Joshua Wilber, the Supreme Leader of Bugwere, held a constructive meeting with the Minister of Finance, Matia Kasaija, on September 8, 2023. This meeting, aimed at addressing crucial issues affecting the Bugwere community, brought together key figures such as the Right Honourable Prime Minister, Joel Moses Mugulusi, and the Chairman of the Cultural Council, Badiru Kirya.
During an exclusive interview with Mbale Express TV, HRH Musimami J. Wilber disclosed the agenda of their meeting, which encompassed a wide range of topics vital to the Bugwere region's development.
Among the pressing matters discussed were strategies for poverty eradication, the enhancement of essential infrastructure such as education, healthcare, water supply, electricity, road networks, business skilling centers, and tourism promotion.
Intriguingly, Minister Matia Kasaija offered valuable insights into how to optimize the limited land available in Bugwere. His suggestions revolved around the establishment of zero grazing practices, poultry farming, and fish farming—a clear indication of his commitment to innovative solutions.
In an exchange of ideas, Bugwere leaders presented the Minister with a copy of the Bugwere Vision 2040 Book, outlining their long-term vision for the region. Minister Kasaija expressed his satisfaction with their ambitious vision and pledged his support to bring it to fruition.
HRH Musimami Joshua Wilber, visibly pleased with the outcome of the meeting, addressed the Bugwere community with optimism, stating, "My beloved people of Bugwere, we had a unique and special serious meeting with the Honourable Minister. We discussed several serious issues which I can't put here now. However, the Honourable Minister has accepted every aspect of support towards social and economic transformation of Bugwere."
As Bugwere looks ahead to a brighter future, the commitment of Minister Matia Kasaija signifies a promising partnership between the central government and this culturally rich and dynamic community.
