By Kundu Ronald In a surprising turn of events, the military court martial located in Makindye, a suburb of the Ugandan capital Kampala, announced the dropping of charges against former Inspector General of Police, Gen. The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has gained attention for its unconventional operating procedures and the influential figure who oversees it, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. While ordinary political mobilizers within the National Resistance Movement (NRM) may find ONC's operations complex, it is an intriguing testament to the President's authority. ONC's powers stem directly from President Museveni, who holds the positions of both Head of State and NRM National Chairman. Functioning as a special purpose vehicle, ONC is entrusted with specific assignments and tasks, guided solely by the President. Notably, ONC's funding is provided by the state itself, indicating its elevated status beyond the financial realm of the NRM party. Unlike other politi...

By Kundu Ronald August 17, 2023 The Secretary General of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Nandala Mafabi, has raised concerns over the involvement of Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, in the party's internal matters. Mafabi's accusations stem from Speaker Among's rejection of the removal of Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda as the Chief Whip of the FDC. Mafabi suggested that any FDC Members of Parliament who are discontent with this decision should address their concerns through the party's internal channels rather than approaching Parliament. Speaker Among, on the other hand, had cited a petition from certain FDC MPs as the basis for her rejection of Ssemujju's removal. Museveni's full communication on Foreign Aid and Loans to Uganda.

Image
By Kundu Ronald STATE HOUSE – ENTEBBE 17th August, 2023 Ugandans and, especially the Bazukulu. Further to my message of the 9th August, 2023, I would like to reiterate that foreign aid and loans are welcome and can be of some use if designed and executed by patriots (not neo-colonial agents), but are neither decisive nor indispensable elements for our desired social-economic transformation. On the contrary, those loans and aid packages, can be a source of distortion and stunted growth as you can see across Africa. If foreign aid and loans, are a source of social-economic transformation, why the present growing crisis of even security and stability in Africa? Look at Guinnea-Conakry, Mali, Burkina-Faso, Niger, Central African Republic, DRC, Boko Haram in Nigeria, Somalia, Mozambique, etc. Most of these Countries, have been getting those grants and loans. Many of the loans and aid packages, are either of no value addition to the Country or are even anti-growth, all together. ...
